Michigan Politics
I am totally sickened by politics. The advertising this campaign season looks to be done by vile, spoiled, selfish, immature little bullies.
In sales and marketing we never want to offend someone that does not currently own or need our product or service because we want the customer to consider buying our product the next time they purchase. This basic lesson in marketing skills seems to be lost on those who produce these putrid ads.
This problem stems from a combination of term-limited politicians and now seemingly unlimited money to spend in campaigns. The politicians we elect have lost control over their Democrat and Republican Parties. Big money from special interests now have both the Democrats and Republicans under their collective thumbs and state and local party chairpersons are nothing more than agents of these shadowy groups. Tea Party candidates that get elected will be consumed by the parties once they get into office like so many we have sent before in hopes of making change.
For the American people to regain control of the election process we need to change how the parties select the federal, state and local chairpersons. Party chairpersons should be elected within 90 days of the general election by their respective elected office holders by a secrete ballot not by acclamation or a show of hands. Vote by acclamation or a show of hands is a loyalty test and has no place in the election process.
